IEC Curriculum

IEC’s Curriculum Philosophy
IEC provides an innovative yet structured curriculum that explicitly teaches collaboration, character, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking through an integrated approach to learning. Knowledge and skills are anchored in enduring understandings to prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century and to thrive in an increasingly connected and global world. The curriculum affords students active learning opportunities to construct knowledge and derive meaning. Department demonstrations of learning guide curriculum development and instruction around student outcomes for each discipline.
The International Education Centre provides academic programs based on British educational principles for an international community. IEC recognizes curriculum development as an evolutionary process, which is updated as new discoveries are made in educational research about teaching and student learning. IEC is accredited by the Education Board of Bangladesh, Cambridge International Examination, and Edexcel
The Kindergarten School implements the best practice from a range of national systems and a wealth of knowledge and experience from international schools to create a relevant, engaging, challenging, and significant educational framework for all children.
The Primary School aims to provide an age-appropriate, child-centered educational program in a safe and supportive environment. The major elements of the middle school program are the core curriculum, the monthly and half-yearly exploratory program, the grade level counseling team, and the extra-curricular program.
In Secondary School, students are challenged to complete a rigorous series of courses to meet IEC’s graduation requirements. The GCE O level and later, AS and A level are available to qualified juniors and seniors.
